The Makay Massif Madagascar Tour

You will follow national road 7 to explore the beautiful landscapes of the Malagasy highlands as well as many large cities such as Antsirabe, Ranomafana, Ambalavao Traranoro, Ranohira and Isalo. The Makay Massifs are a unique place that was only discovered in 2009 and is a paradise for those who love liberty, nature and trekking.
Five days are dedicated to trekking in the Makay massifs, which are a remarkable work of nature.
Accompanied by trackers and porters, we enter the massif to the southwest. This massif is made up of ruiniform yellow and red sandstones whose erosion has given birth of a veritable mineral fortress formed by a canyon of several hundred
meters. Let's say that it is a true sanctuary of nature, with its deep and inaccessible valleys which constitute a real taste for adventure. With 8 hours on average per day of walking, the days do not present too many technical difficulties, no significant difference in altitude but it is still necessary to take into account sandy soil. When crossing between valleys and canyons, water flows in permanence. The temperature could reach up to +35°C overnight in bivouacs.
