Ambatofotsy is located 23 km southwest of the city center of Antananarivo. The road winds through wooded hills, pine forests, lakes and rivers. In the rainy season, the rice terraces shine when the water that irrigates them reflects the sunlight between the soft green paddy shoots. All along the road villagers offer seasonal fruits.
