Manja is both a district and town located in the Menabe region of western Madagascar. With its strategic location inland from the coast, Manja serves as the typical stopover point for travelers journeying from Morondava to the more remote coastal villages of Atsimo Andrefana, such as Belo sur Mer or Morombe.

Though modest in size and amenities, the town of Manja offers a glimpse into everyday rural Malagasy life and serves as a key resupply or rest point before continuing along the often rugged roads further south.
