Anakao
Anakao is a coastal gem located just south of the city of Toliara, often accessed by boat due to its remote location. Known for its turquoise waters and consistent waves, Anakao has become one of the most popular destinations for surfers in Madagascar. Despite its growing popularity among travelers, it remains a traditional Vezo fishing village, with a population of around 3,000. Visitors can enjoy not only the surf, but also fresh seafood, island hopping, and immersion in a laid-back, ocean-centered way of life.
