• Lake Tritriva: it is considered a sacred lake and according to the Taboo or 'fady' it is forbidden to eat pork.

• Ranomafana National Park: an exceptional site for some very rare species of lemur, the park is located 70 km east of Fianaratsoa.

• Anja Reserve: this is a small protected area, it covers 30 hectares and is located 12 km from Ambalavao.

• Tsaranoro Valley: it is home to flora and fauna and is located near the Andringitra National Park.

• Isalo National Park: Located 269 km from Fianaratsoa and 80 km from Ihosy, Isalo National Park is a natural rocky massif, the sandstone massif is cut by deep canyons which can measure several kilometers.

• Ifaty and Mangily
  are home to some specimens of baobabs and other plants with therapeutic properties.

• Anakao:
  South of the city of Toliara, is a village located just near where the Tropic of Capricorn passes, with its beautiful beaches and soft sands.
