For the past twenty years, Domaine de la Cascade has been striving to contribute to the development of the region. This very large area is bordering the last primary lowland forest in the south, so working with the local villagers allows to teach them how to preserve this environmental heritage.
From stopping tree cutting activities for charcoal, to growing bamboo forests, plant nurseries, rice, vanilla and pink peppercorn they can sell after harvesting, it's a win win partnership for an effective responsible tourism.
The Domaine provides 17km of forest trails, from 30 minutes to 2 hours trekking depending of the level of difficulty. You can also enjoy the calmness of this place by chilling, or having a swim in the two natural swimming pools. Spending the night there is possible through camping or bungalow rentals.
