Culinary Immersion: Libanona Beach | Fort-Dauphin

Salama aby e! Tongasoa eto Tôlagnaro!

It is with a great pleasure that we invite you to the southeastern coast of Madagascar with a total immersion in the life of the Antanosy people.

The fishermen of the famous Libanona beach invite you to sail on an outrigger pirogue to go snorkeling for the collecting of "deda" (a delicious local dish equivalent to sea snails), sea urchins, oysters, and lobsters.

Once collected, you will choose the seafoods you would like to taste and have the unique opportunity to cook with those talented villagers. They will teach you how to clean, season, and cook perfectly what Mother Nature offers them every day to make you taste a "Menu découverte" full of flavors and exoticism. After all these efforts, a little swim in the bay and coconut water are offered with a big smile.

While you are relaxing, the fishermen will prepare an atypical table settled with local materials. You will get starters-mains-desserts all served in a single service. A small view of the menu: tropical salad with "Raketa" or cactus which has the prickly pear as a fruit, "deda" skewers, grilled sea urchins in their shells, raw oysters with local vinaigrette sauce or oysters au gratin, red tuna sashimi, grilled fish, one lobster each and so on. To finish, nothing better than fruits brochettes or a light seasonal fruit salad. If you are a beer lover, we will urge you to taste the famous THB, local beer which has made its reputation abroad.

To end this half-day, a group photo is offered to you to immortalize the moment and and the time spent with these incredible people.
