2025, We Are Ready for You!

As 2024 has officially come to a close, I’m excited to share the last newsletter of the year with you (and yes, I know this is late!).

The year didn’t start off easy, as highlighted in our previous newsletters. Projects stalled, and at times, it felt like we were fighting an uphill battle. There were moments when I questioned whether my dream was feasible. I even thought about giving up during my travels around Madagascar with the “TIM Tour.” But before I did, I challenged myself to make the most of the tools and resources I still had at my disposal—and that made all the difference.

The TIM Tour across Madagascar reconnected me with the heart of this mission: creating opportunities for local communities to determine their own outcomes of tourism. Media interviews at the Makua Festival brought new attention to our work, with over 5 million views across all platforms. The experience of my younger brother Shawn visiting brought me so much joy—it gave me deeply personal affirmation of what TourOnePlanet is building. Shawn even wrote a powerful reflection of his experience that I encourage you to read.

By the end of the year, TourOnePlanet achieved what felt impossible just months earlier: nearly $11,000 in processed payments on our online marketplace, TourOnePlanet.com. From March 2023 (when the platform was first launched) until March of 2024 we had processed less than $800. The progress is most encouraging because our site has very limited SEO capabilities for the moment (something that we are intensely working on this year).

This year has been about laying the groundwork and planting seeds for what’s ahead. We’ve worked tirelessly to prepare for something greater in 2025, and I couldn’t be more excited for the road ahead.
